Frequently Asked Questions: When Is the Right Time?

Like every other aspect of this important process, it’s very personal. There’s no doubt that making pre-need arrangements is in everyone’s best interest for many reasons. The first and perhaps the most obvious is that you lock in the prices of today. The cost of a funeral, whether it be the actual funeral itself or picking the final resting place will only cost more as time goes on. The other, perhaps less obvious reason is making arrangements for yourself well in advance is the greatest gift that you can give to your loved ones. We never know when our time will come. We hope that it will be many, many, many years into the future. But we all know that things don’t always work out that way, and leaving your loved ones to have to make this critical decision at the time of loss is just a horrible situation for so many reasons. For one, financially, it’s a burden. But even more importantly, when a family is in mourning, especially if it’s unexpected, that’s not the time to make important financial and emotional decisions. So making pre-need arrangements is certainly in everyone’s best interest.
